The email was forwarded to us by longtime friend, Helen Trautman, CEO of Results Unlimited in Pittsburgh. The contents, originally sent by an officer of the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod, have been challenged and trashed by Leftists who raised questions hoping that lazy people would not take the time to check out the accuracy of this communication for themselves rather than take their distorted word.

There was a time when atheists were nicer and had some class. Atheists of old drastically differered from those of today. High profile philosophers David Hume, Bertrand Russell and even Voltaire (among others) were not in the closet about their non-belief. They published anti-religion essays and in the case of Hume, rejected belief in miracles while questioning God, like Voltaire who could not understand how a loving God could have allowed the devastating earthquake in Lisbon that killed thousands of people in 1755. Yet, these were atheists that this writer would have enjoyed conversations with over coffee and in fact, would have liked them, even though we would have had wide differences of opinion.

One would be hard pressed to top this Christmas Story that unfolded in Carmel, California. As shoppers frantically picked out last minute gifts, a lady carrying a bag, with her little dog on a leash, turned from the main area onto a quiet side street. A thief seeing the vulnerable woman with the little dog quickly appeared with a strong arm approach, demanding she give him everything she had. “Oh please,” she said, “I only have this bag.” The thief grabbed the bag out of her hand and ran off into the distance.
