The big question is, who ARE the “Occupiers” and WHAT are they? It is an obstacle course to define exactly what it is they are protesting and what they want. Today, Columnist Tom Barnidge of The Contra Costa Times observed that [in] these demonstrations, ‘a careful shopper could find a cause (to protest) for almost any occassion.’

Who would think one could be fined or even jailed simply from speaking? No, this has nothing to do with the old laws against profanity. This is punishment for simply speaking an opinion about something, or someone, or a lifestyle with speech that is not considered, “Politically Correct.” That term, by the way, was coined and introduced by Adolph Hitler as he set out to subdue all people and control their lives. Thought control is an important element in raising a dictator and keeping him in power.

A sit-in called, “Occupy Wall Street,” that purportedly is calling attention to corporate greed, excessive government spending and selfishness, is demanding a change in the way the U.S. is doing things and how the resulting poverty must be eliminated. It is an effort to essentially stir things up and even things out. The protest, that is in its second week, seems to have taken a cue from Greece and, yes, Egypt.

The most painful tragedy of life is to lose a child. It is bad enough when the child dies by an illness or accident. But it is even more heart wrenching when your child is murdered in a hate filled act by someone who kills simply for the sake of killing.
