This is a very rare occurrance. MilesTones deeply regrets the posting of a story without giving careful consideration to the incident beforehand. So much so that, with hat in hand, this writer with great humility, begs forgiveness from the subject of that recently published entry with a sincere apology for thoughtlessly putting this before the public. To say this lapse of judgement disturbs me is a gross understatement. Critics, enjoy this while you can.

In December, an individual at the Vallivue Academy, a charter school in Boise, Idaho, alerted this news site about the Pledge of Allegiance being permanently cancelled in the school due to a complaint made by a female Muslim student (see story, “Muslim Complaint Ends Pledge in Idaho School”). Before publishing the story, corroborative testimony served to verify the event. Two months after it was published, an angry email was received from a teacher of that school. It is reprinted as it was received.

The Grammy Awards last night blasted the airwaves with a cacophony of sounds created to soothe jangled emotions of savage beasts and test the endurance of civilization at large. The expectation that Lady Gaga would sing a duet with Justin Bieber proved to be just a rumor. Pity. In an attempt to orate an in-depth analysis of the event, one challenged TV news reporter became hopelessly entangled in the worst case of tongue-tied communication ever recorded. These advance newspaper headlines and stories that were to be hidden from Americans until the precise moment of release, have just been leaked out to select news providers. Richard Lee, a friend from Spokane, Washington, alerted MilesTones as soon as he was made aware of these stories being set in type. We are still trying to track down the primary source of the leaks:
