MilesTonesChicken Story Ranked Among Top Stories of 2010 and MORE—Photo Update

Looking Over The Shoulder:
This website has grown considerabley with heavy traffic. News editors are picking up and publishing many of the breaking stories here, which they are free to do. The story, “Incredible Veteran’s Day Parade in Antioch,” really hit a responsive chord. It was published all over the world, including the newspaper, U.S.A. Today. The Great Chicken Trial of Brentwood (along with the follow-up stories) was listed in the top stories of 2010 by The Press in Brentwood. Editor Rick Lemyre makes it clear that this doesn’t mean most “important” but most ‘interesting and unusual,” which MilesTones is all about.

ReligionPastor Blasts Phelps Family “Church”

The funerals have begun in Tucson, including that of a 9 year old girl, Christina Taylor Green. Ironically, this little innocent third grader was born on a day of violence, September 11, 2001, and she died on a day of violence, Saturday, January 8, 2011.  Intruding into the violent tragedy in Arizona that has grieved America, Fred Phelps and his Kansas family planned to come and picket the funeral of the little girl this morning. I saw his raving video where he yells, “God Bless that shooter!  God sent that shooter.”  This is a display of criminal insanity, not Christianity.

GeneralTucson Funerals Begin-Fred Phelps Family STAY HOME!

The shooting rampage in Arizona on Saturday underscores our need for God more than ever. As you remember, we allowed a communist in 1963 to push prayer (and God) out of the public schools and ultimately out of public life in general. A year after that insane decision, the federal crime rate increased 100% (actual statistic) in our nation. We kicked God out and terror came in. And this latest violent attack on citizens is a direct result.

ReligionBob & Geri Boyd Award Recipients

What a joy to begin the New Year with this story of two precious friends, Bob and Geri Boyd, who were presented the 2010 Courageous Christian Leadership Award. I can think of no one more deserving. Bob and Geri are the gracious hosts of the outstanding national radio program, Issues in Education. They tackle the issues of encroaching communism, the state of our public schools, the Islamic indoctrination of our school children and the attempt to strip all Christians of their rights to worship freely. These issues are confronted honestly and thoroughly on their program which has a powerful impact on the public at large and a source of encouragement for Christians everywhere who feel they are not alone in this fight for the faith and freedom to be a Christian. We are thankful to Chaplain E. Ray Moore, President of Frontline Ministries, Inc. who created this award and released this story:

SocietyMuslim Complaint Ends Pledge in Idaho School!

by Rev. Austin Miles—Traveling Cross-Country
(Boise Idaho)  When one thinks of the State of Idaho, visions of tradition, patriotism, apple pie and picket fences refreshingly comes to mind. Oops—also potatoes. However those days seem to have screeched to an abrupt stop, ending the last vestige of the America we once knew and loved. As kids return to school after Christmas break, one school will have a zero-tolerance Pledge policy.
